Defenders of Malaysia: A Retro-Inspired Tower Defense Game
Defenders of Malaysia is a browser-based tower defense game developed using vanilla JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Set against a backdrop of Malaysian cultural and historical elements, the game challenges players to defend the nation against waves of enemies by strategically placing various defensive units.
GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW
Players assume the role of a commander tasked with safeguarding Malaysia from invading forces. The game features multiple levels, each representing different Malaysian landscapes and historical periods. Players can deploy a variety of towers, each with unique abilities and upgrade paths, to thwart the advancing enemies. Resource management is crucial, as players must balance spending on new towers versus upgrading existing ones.
TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION
The game leverages HTML5 Canvas for rendering graphics, ensuring smooth animations and interactions. JavaScript handles game logic, including enemy pathfinding, tower targeting, and resource calculations. CSS3 is utilized for styling the user interface, ensuring responsiveness across various devices.
